"The Cazbar"
Hello Everyone I'm back with a restaurant review that you must read, especially if you live in, or visit the Baltimore area. I found this little spot, while looking for somewhere new and different to eat in downtown Baltimore. I came across The Cazbar at: 316 N. Charles St., by way of Yelp. They had it listed under 4.5 stars out of 5, so I figured we'd give it a try. I love middle eastern food, I mean come on I'm Jewish, but I had never eaten Turkish food until then, so I thought we'd give it a try. Boy am I glad we did, because it was amazing!! The food was out of this world, it had a spicy flare and was packed full of flavor. Plus the staff was all so nice, and because it was our first time eating with them, she took a minute to explain the menu and entrees to us.
Which I thought was fantastic.
The menu was full of so many choices. hey had all kinds of Kabobs, many different salads, lamb, fish, chicken, pork, and even vegetarian choices. Since I don't eat pork, I chose a chicken dish. It was cubed chicken, smothered in a delicious tomato sauce, with peppers, onions, and spices. Rob got the grilled salmon dish, he to was blown away. Each dish came with the two sides of a salad and rice. The rice was a white whole grain rice with a few grains of brown mixed in, it was so good. Its hard to imagine me going on about the rice, but it was outta this world. Everything had an authentic Middle Eastern flavor to it. When I go to a restaurant that's what I want, an authentic experience. This is why I love food so much, it's a great way to explore different cultures.
The chicken was moist and cooked just right, I can't find one thing to complain about. I enjoyed every bite!! They even have a promotion on Thursday night's, where the wine is 50% off, and on Friday and Saturday nights they have belly dancing at 9 & 9:30 pm. It's free and just part of the dinning experience, which I thought was really cool. We want on a Thursday night, but we definitely plan to go back on a Friday or Saturday night so we can check it out. They have a bar and a great drink/wine menu as well. So if you're interested in a very authentic & quite delicious Turkish/Middle Eastern meal, you have to check this cute little spot out. It's super cozy and has a great vibe. It's one of those places where you can go and feel super comfortable, and there aren't many places like that left in Baltimore City!!
If you go please let me know what you ordered...I know you're gonna love it no matter what it is!
Have a Good One Dolls!
